I created EKA with a mission to make it easier for people to stop and appreciate the little things in life, with customisable candles that celebrate what makes us unique.DISCOVER MY STORY
Now that we are fully embracing the cozy knits, log fires and Baileys we thought it would be the perfect time to showcase our top 5 interior home decor trends for AW.
It’s all about being brave and bold with your colour choices this season. Don’t be afraid to splash navy onto the walls and add a bright orange sofa into the mix! As long as the darker tones are teamed up with brighter accessories to balance things, you’ll be able to create a wonderfully cosy space. The key colours for the season are burnt orange and shades of green, these earthy tones are just gorgeous and create a really uplifting and comforting space.
Velvet is still a key fabric trend alongside leather this season. We’ll be seeing lots of velvet soft furnishings, whether it be a sofa, armchair or pouffe, velvet gives you tonnes of texture and warmth, and if you’re brave enough to step away from the neutrals then that’s all the better! Leather will also be making more of an appearance, think studded sofas layered up statement cushions and gorgeous throws.
Metallics really is the trend that keeps on giving as we see it still very much at the forefront for AW across both furniture and accessories. We adore the way metallic home accessories add a sophisticated look to a room and teamed up with the darker walls it works a dream! Swoon and Audenza Home have some stand out metallic pieces to really create that wow factor.
There is definitely a big shift away from the light bleached Scandi style woods into the walnuts, mahogany and dark oaks. These darker tones create depth, warmth and a much cosier feel. Swoon, and John Lewis have a great mix of classic and on trend pieces, add some metallic accessories and ‘voila’, you’ve created a stunning look with maximum impact.
The brighter the better – statement doors are on the up. If you’re not quite brave enough to paint your door though, a bright door mat or plant could do the trick! We anticipate yellow and shades of purple to be the most popular colours of choice, although we are still partial to a bit of pink too. Painting your front door is a great and relatively inexpensive way to add a bit of colour to your house and it’s sure to bring a smile to passers by too. We are totally in love with this trend and have our paint brushes at the ready!
